What is Happening in the Womens Rugby Team?

NTU Womens Rugby Win BUCS Club of the Year

The team had a fantastic night at the Nottingham Trent Anual Sport Ball which was held at Colwick Hall. All the girls looked fantastic as they wined and dined amongst all the other sports clubs at NTU. It was very exciting to see the club and its members nominated for many categories during the awards ceremony of which we came away with the BUCS Club of the year award.

Newark and Notts County Show

NTU Women's Rugby had a great time this weekend volunteering on the RFU stand at the Newark and Notts County Show. The girls were up early to get to the Newark Showground and help man the inflatables that were being used to promote rugby for girls and boys across the region.

Depite the bad weather on the saturday we were still able to get the kids having plenty of fun on the inflatables and we had many people sign up for more information about rugby in their area.

With the sun shining on the sunday the girls were able to get a lot more people involved and help the RFU Development Team promote rugby throughout the day.

A massive thank you goes out to Pal, Porn, Swine, Buster, Arthur, Irish and Terror for volunteering to give their weekend representing Trent Women's Rugby and the University at this fantastic event.

YMCA Sleep Easy

NTU Women's Rugby took part in the YMCA Sleep Easy event. This event took place in towns and cities all around the country and the money raised will go towards helping young people in the community build a future.

The Sleep easy event is to highlight the issue of youth homelessness and raise vital funds for the YMCA's work with young people.

The girls met at All Saints church, Raliegh St at 8:30pm to register and collect their thermos mugs, after enjoying some steaming hot jacket potatoes they had talks from the director of Nottingham's YMCA and the Bishop. Armed with their filled thermos mugs and a cardboard box they led their way into the church car park where they set up for the cold night ahead.

Several attempts at making the perfect beds were made before the group settled down for the night under the stars.

Temperatures dropped further but spirits were high as a guitar came out and the singing started around the fire.

A huge thank you to; Pal, Porn, Worm, Swine, Irish, Buster and Tai Chi for voluteering and representing NTU Womens Rugby and Nottingham Trent University in this fantastic charity event.
